Stonehenge draws over 1.5 million people annually to the south of England to experience its mysterious wonder. Now, within this premiere exhibition, step back into ancient civilizations at Union Station. Study their nearly-impossible efforts. Explore how their history reshaped our entire understanding of the ancient world. Do this and more at Stonehenge: Ancient Mysteries & Modern Discoveries on Saturday.

Stonehenge, celebrated by scholars, writers, and artists for countless generations comes to life in this large-scale exhibition, suitable for all ages and featuring multiple hands-on interactives to amplify key elements of the monument's mysteries.

So much more than a massive marvel of ancient engineering, Stonehenge and its immense stones have captured our imaginations and dared us to explore and explain prehistoric unknowns like never before. During this exhibit, the silent icon that is Stonehenge will be transformed into a monumental story rivaled only by that of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Stonehenge is perhaps the world’s most famous prehistoric monument. It was built in several stages: the first monument was an early henge monument, built about 5,000 years ago, and the unique stone circle was erected in the late Neolithic period about 2500 BC. In the early Bronze Age, many burial mounds were built nearby.

The monument's mysterious past has spawned countless tales and theories. According to folklore, Stonehenge was created by Merlin, the wizard of Arthurian legend. Another legend says invading Danes put the stones up, and another theory says they were the ruins of a Roman temple. Some argue that Stonehenge is a spacecraft landing area for aliens.

No matter what you believe, an unprecedented and unexpected journey into the unknown is just ahead. Make plans now to see this limited engagement! Admission ranges from $13 to $21. Tickets may be purchased online at www.unionstation.org/stonehenge.
