Love Barbecue? If So, Make Plans Now to Attend This Barbecue Cooking Competition

Your favorite barbecue competition is cooking up something amazing in 2019! The American Royal World Series of Barbecue will return to the Kansas Speedway September 12-15. The World Series of Barbecue is the largest barbecue competition in the world, bringing teams together from over ten countries to compete for the title of Open and Invitational Grand Champion! Check out the opening events this Thursday, September 12th beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The American Royal World Series of Barbecue is much more than a competition. It’s a two-day festival with something for everyone: live local music, delicious foods, beer and cocktails, a car show, a BBQ Marketplace, and activities for the kids. Plus, this year the festival is celebrating over 40 years of competition BBQ in Kansas City, so get ready for more events and activities than ever!

The Barbecue Hall of Fame exists not only to recognize, document and preserve the heritage of barbecue, but also to educate others by identifying and honoring its evolving history and traditions. Election into the Barbecue Hall of Fame at the American Royal is barbecue’s top honor, and inductees are recognized for significant contributions to the barbecue community.

Each season, the American Royal offers unique opportunities for competitive learning to both youth and adults. These opportunities build character, strength, and skills through competition inside the show ring. Exhibitors and competitors as young as 9 years old come to the Royal each fall to show off their market livestock, equestrian skills, and even barbecue talent at the Kids Que.
